Old School Challenge

Here is my submission for Emma's old school challenge (make a card without using your cricut). This was not too much of a challenge for me since I am still old school and use my stamps and patterned papers alot. My cricut I use for alot of projects but not always on my cards since my cartridge collection is fairly small. The stamp is from Stampin Up which I stamped on cardstock and bleached out the centers of the flowers and glossy accented the leaves. Thanks for looking.

Brayered Deer Birthday card

This card has to be one of my favorite cards. I used the brayer in Marina Mist and Night of Navy for the sky and water. The stamp set is from Stampin Up.  I mirrored image the stamp to reflect in the water. I used SU weathered background stamp for the background on the card and also on the photo corners that were stamped and embossed and then popped up with dimensionals. With my white gelly roll pen I did some highlighting in the tree and water. I am very pleased at how this card has turned out. Thanks for looking

Aviary card

This is a 4 1/4" square card. The base is crumb cake (craft card stock) stamped with images from Stampin Up's "Aviary" stamp set stamped in crumb cake ink. I then placed a 1" strip of Bermuda Bay card stock stamped with the swirl from SU's  "Elements of Style" set in versamark ink. Layered on top of the Bermuda Bay is white card stock punched with SU's lace border punch. The main image is stamped on a 1 5/8" x 2 1/8" white card stock. The cage is stamped with Soft Suede ink and the owl is stamped with Bermuda Bay ink. I punched out a Bermuda Bay lace border and cut in half for the scallops on the side of the white card stock. I placed the main image on the card with dimensionals and added a crystal brad to the top of the birdcage. I then placed 4 crystals on the white lace border. Thanks for looking.

Back to School Teacher Gift

This project was made for my daughter's Kindergarten teacher as a back to school gift. We had bought some teacher peg stamps that have sayings on them "Good Job" etc. and decided to make a box for them to go in. There are four different stamps and one ink pad in the box.  The card was made using the Stampin Up "Greeting Card Kids" that I stamped on paper and then my daughter used SU's watercolor crayons and the waterpen to color. She chose the colors and did all the coloring herself (Libby did a great job on trying to stay in the lines, her Kindergarten teacher should be proud of her). The designer series paper is from DCWV's flower shower spring stack. I punched out one of the stars and placed a rhinestone brad in the middle, layered the star on a 1 1/4" circle and then on a 1 3/8" circle and used a dimensional to adhere to the card. I used a red marker to do some stitching on the layers of the card. I then used glossy accents on the apple and the buckle on the books. This was a fun card to make with my daughter and it got her excited about going to school.

2 Step Bird and Owl Punch Paperclips

A friend had asked me to make her some big paperclips, so I used the two-step bird punch from Stampin Up along with SU Punch Potpourri and stamped the bird in Real Red, Rich Razzleberry, Daffodil Delight and Melon Mambo ink. I stamped the birds twice and punched them out (Bird and wing from same color), and used dimensionals to attach the wing. I then punched the branch with certainly celery dsp and attached the branch and bird onto a 1 3/8" circle punch, which attached to a certainly celery scallop punch and then onto a chocolate chip Lg. scallop punch. I then made a pocket from crumb cake card stock for the paperclips to sit in. The for you stamp is from a SU hostess set punched with the curly label punch, I layered that on top of another curly label punch cut in half to appear as if it was bigger than the label.  I stamped the flowers from the Punch Potpourri set and punched out the large flower with the Boho Blossoms punch and placed a itty bitty button on top with a glue dot.

The Owl paper clip was done in the same way as the birds except I used the owl punch (love this punch). I used the SU lace border punch across the middle of the scallop and layered the owl on the lace border and Lg. scallop.

Books are Fun SCAL project

These were cut using the SCAL program and the cricut. Each book cover was embossed with a sizzix texture plate.  The books are 7" are were made for a bulletin board at school to welcome back the Jr./Sr. high classes.  I had also made a book for the staff later.  The cricut has been an awesome tool cause I can cut anything out for any occassion.  Thanks for looking.
